| Lambeth Music Service Believes: - That it is the right of every child to have a basic level of music literacy - That fundamental musical concepts can be taught and experienced through a wide variety of musical genres and cultures. Key Principles of LMS: • All children in Lambeth must have access to a basic training to become musically literate • Music education in Lambeth should embrace instrumental, curricular and extra-curricular activities in a cohesive way • The same fundamental musical ideas and experiences can be gained through a wide variety of genres • Pupils with particular talent must be supported to reach the highest levels. |

| The Lambeth Educational Achievement Plan LMS contributes to the Lambeth Educational Achievement Plan that aims to: • Raise achievement of all pupils • Improve the quality of education for primary/secondary aged pupils • Maintain and further improve the quality of teaching and learning • Implement programmes for gifted and talented pupils • Raise achievement of pupils with EAL and from ethnic minorities • Roll out the extended schools and services programme • Develop arts partnership to ensure strategic development of arts and arts providers • Develop programmes to link national curriculum and instrumental work through specific KS1/2/3 programmes increasing value for money and quality of teaching Click here more information on the Lambeth Educational Achievement Plan |
