In Harmony Lambeth Winter Concert – A Celebration of Dance!

Wednesday 14 December at 6.00pm, Clore Ballroom, Southbank Centre.

In Harmony Lambeth and Southbank Centre are delighted to invite you to this very special concert given by the young performers of In Harmony Lambeth.

This is the inaugural concert given by three new orchestras, Purcell Orchestra, Holst Orchestra and Stockwell Children’s Orchestra, which have developed out of In Harmony Lambeth’s programme of work on the Lansdowne Green Estate and in three Lambeth Primary schools; St Stephen’s CofE Primary, Herbert Morrison Primary and Wyvil Primary.  Over 450 children, aged from 4-11 years old, are currently involved with In Harmony Lambeth.

A celebration of dance! involves 80 of these children, and they will be performing immediately prior to a concert given by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, a partner in the project.  Their programme of dances takes inspiration from LPO’s evening performance of Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony. Members of the LPO will be performing alongside the children, to mark the start of a new mentoring programme between the LPO and In Harmony Lambeth.

I do hope you will join us at Southbank Centre in celebrating the wonderful achievements of the young performers!

Please RSVP to z.boltonihl@lambethmusic.co.uk by Monday 12 December. The performance is free and unticketed.

In Harmony Lambeth is part of Lambeth Council’s Children and Young People’s Service. Two main strategic partners, AmicusHorizon, the local Housing Association, and Southbank Centre contribute support and expertise to the project.  The partnership with Southbank Centre enables the participants to link up with world class cultural opportunities and to access the Southbank Centre’s programme.

In Harmony Lambeth is only possible through the generous support of the Department for Education and London Borough of Lambeth.

In Harmony Lambeth is part of In Harmony Sistema England, the Government-funded programme inspired by Venezuela’s El Sistema and chaired by international star cellist, Julian Lloyd Webber.
