About the Centre
The Tippett Music Centre (TMC) is Lambeth’s flagship Saturday Music Centre, with over 350 members. It has become so popular that many classes now have waiting lists. TMC has a talented team of 20 music teachers and 4 pastoral staff managed by Dawne Adams and the LMS office. It also has a great café for parents and carers. |
TMC is for beginners and experienced musicians from 0 to 18, in or out of Lambeth. While there is a progressive programme of music education, TMC offers prospective students many exciting choices, divided broadly into three categories:
- Beginner classes (providing an introduction to music and instruments)
- Instrumental lessons (in small groups with specialist teachers)
- Ensembles (groups for experienced musicians who learn an instrument and have reached the required standard)
|
 |
Reflecting Lambeth’s vibrant diversity, TMC caters for most orchestral instruments – string, brass, woodwind and percussion; keyboard, guitars, drums, voice, music technology/composition and Capoeira – a popular musical martial art from Brazil. Ensembles include string and wind orchestras, steel pans, samba, choirs, folk bands, djembe and rock/pop bands. |
