Clapham and Larkhall Collaborative Jazz band
For beginner Instrumentalists who are in Year 4 who attend any of the following schools: Allen Edwards, Clapham Manor, Heathbrook, Lark Hall and Clapham Manor. |
This band is the first school collaborative band in Lambeth. Children have the opportunity to learn an instrument within a band setting. The band will be performing at all of the schools within the collaborative, and will have the opportunity to perform at other music festivals in Lambeth and beyond. |
•Choose to learn either the Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet or Trombone
•Study a range of repertoire from many styles and genres
•Study Kodály-based musicianship
•Improve your vocal and instrumental skills
•Take part in performances
•Develop musicianship and ensemble skills
•Improve your confidence
•Work alongside professional musicians
•Take part in special projects

Djembe Drumming
For children in Y4, Y5, Y6 who attend any of the following schools: Allen Edwards, Clapham Manor, Heathbrook, Lark Hall and Clapham Manor. |
The drum originates from the Malinke peoples of West Africa. Djembe drumming has become popular world wide and djembe drummers can be found in many world music/jazz fusion groups as well as in more traditional ensembles. |
• Learn and play some traditional West African rhythms in 2 or 3 parts
• Be involved with composing and arranging 2/3 part rhythms.
• Take part in performances
• Develop musicianship and ensemble skills
• Improve your confidence
