The annual Lambeth Music Festival now in its eleventh year is the largest event organised by the Lambeth Music Service and celebrates the achievements of over 2,500 young musicians from fifty schools and Lambeth Network partners. Hosted at London's iconic Southbank Centre, the music Festival featured a total of eight different concerts including massed singing performances featuring a staggering 1800 Infant and Juniors, Orchestral concerts, Wind band concerts, Contemporary rock and Pop bands, Jazz ensembles, Percussion groups and Junior and Senior Choirs. Concerts took place at the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Festival Village site. The concerts were attended by an estimated 5000 Lambeth residents alongside noted Dignitaries and members of the Press. The Festival also included special performances of the newly restored Royal Festival Hall organ and formed part of Chorus 14 Festival which featured Lambeth Secondary choirs performing with the prestigious Simon Bolivar National youth choir of Venezuela.

This year also saw the inclusion of a Lambeth Music Network event featuring stalls, speeches music performances and a poetry slam organised by Raw Material. For more information on the Lambeth Music Network please visit www.lambethmusicnetwork.co.uk

Next year's Festival is scheduled for the week of 23-27th March 2015 where we again look forward to celebrating the incredible musical achievements of Lambeth's youth from schools and Network partner organisations.
