About Lambeth Sounds Music Hub

​Lambeth Sounds Music Hub is a collective of music providers led by Lambeth Music Service that work in partnership to deliver the National Plan for Music Education (NPME) through accessible, high-quality and inclusive music provision.
 
Our mission is to ensure all young people in Lambeth can access and enjoy inclusive and inspiring music making opportunities that meet their needs and interests​.

Hub Culture
Lambeth Sounds Music Hub is committed to driving positive change that enables young people in Lambeth, and the workforce that supports them, to be able to access and feel part of a vibrant community of music-making.  The culture of our Hub is very important to us, and we ask all organisations that are part of the Hub to commit to:

• Making equity, diversity and inclusion a strategic priority and taking action to identify and address priority issues.
• Educating their workforce about a range of EDI issues, championing inclusive practice and eradicating bias and discrimination.
• Implementing recruitment practices that support inclusion and diversity, making an effort to reach underrepresented groups and ensuring application and selection processes are fair and accessible.
• Ensuring that the thoughts and ideas of young people are heard and taken into consideration when planning and delivering activity.
• Creating opportunities for youth-led activity.
• Creating a workplace culture in which staff feel listened to, valued and safe to be themselves.
• Creating environments in which young people feel listened to, valued and safe to be themselves.

​Hub reach: 2022-23

• Lambeth Sounds Music Hub provided over 10,000 children in Lambeth with the opportunity to sing and play an instrument through in-school and after-school provision.
• Lambeth Sounds Music Hub provided 38 regular weekly area ensembles plus holiday projects and summer schools  
• Lambeth Sounds Music Hub worked with 92% Lambeth schools and offered training to 108 primary and secondary school teachers
• Lambeth Sounds Music Hub partnered with over 60 other creative arts organisations including the music industry, charities, festivals, arts centres, music venues, universities and conservatoires.
