WELCOME and introduction
Welcome to our Staff Handbook, which aims to bring together a range of Music Service and Council policies and documents relevant to your work in one place. We have arranged this information under different headings so it can be more easily located/accessed and will expand and update the content as needed. If you need assistance locating information or can't find the answer to a question please don't hesitate to get in touch.
THE LEADERSHIP TEAM AND STAFF WITH ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Lambeth Music Service employs over 80 members of staff in a range of teaching and non-teaching roles. Their work is guided and supported by the leadership and business teams below.
THE LEADERSHIP AND BUSINESS TEAM
Bryan Welton - Head of Service.
Bryan is the Head of Lambeth Music Service and the Director of In Harmony Lambeth. He is responsible for setting the vision and strategy for the Service and ensuring that the Hub delivers the Core and Extension Roles as defined by Arts Council England.
Oliver Bayley - Senior Manager - Events and Partnerships. Oliver directs and produces the LMS public events programme and coordinates Lambeth Sounds Music Hub, developing and sustaining partnerships with a wide range of local and national music, arts and education organisations. Oliver sits on the Hub's Strategic Board, manages the social media channels as well as teaching guitar/bass and leading on Musitrax projects.
Chris Huning - Senior Manager Musitrax. Chris oversees over 100 Whole-Class music projects. Chris also teaches trombone, general brass and oversees the stock of over 1000 instruments.
Alistair Walker - Senior Manager Instrumental Tuition and BHMC. Alistair oversees LMS' peripatetic teaching programme and is the manager of Brixton Hill Music Centre. He also coordinates our exam season, London Music Fund scholars, as well as teaching trumpet and leading Musitrax projects.
Daniel Clarke – Business Manager. Daniel is the Business Manager for Lambeth Music Service. His work covers all the communication aspects of the Lambeth Music Service including the LMS staff, Lambeth schools and parent contact. He is also responsible for the creation of this website.
Doreen Clarke – LMS and BHMC Administrator. Doreen is responsible for both the administration of the Lambeth Music Service and Brixton Hill Music Centre.
STAFF WITH ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Rihab Azar - Tutor Diversity Ambassador. Rihab works with tutors and managers to help identify and address issues relating to equity, diversity and inclusion.
Kirsty Mees - Singing Coordinator. Kirsty coordinates our borough-wide singing programmes, curating a range of training and support materials for schools and facilitating a range of singing events.
Steven Moore - Instrument Manager. Steven works to ensure staff, schools and young people have the equipment they need to succeed, both in day-to-day activities and at concerts and events.
Kim Perkins - SEND Coordinator. Kim provides a range of support and guidance to staff, schools and families regarding provision for pupils with special needs.

SAFEGUARDING
Safeguarding is everybody's responsibility and we encourage tutors to always act on their concerns. Referrals for concerns relating to school-based activity should be made to the school Designated Safeguarding Lead. Referrals for concerns relating to activity taking place in a Music Centre should be made to the Music Service Designated Safeguarding Lead (currently Bryan Welton, the Head of Service).
