Join us and be part of a new Lambeth Symphony Orchestra Come and be part of the Lambeth Symphony Orchestra for winds, strings, brass and percussion, playing classical, baroque, film and urban music.
• When, where and how much? o July 26th to 28th at: City Heights E-ACT Academy, 33 Abbots Park, London, SW2 3PW o 10am-4pm each day. (supervision available from 9-5) o £35 for the whole course (Bursaries available) o Bring a packed lunch, some light refreshments provided. • Who is it for?
o Musicians who will be in year 5 and above from September 2016. o Instruments required: Violin, Viola, cello, double bass (unlimited number) Flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon (up to four of each) Trumpet, Trombone, Horn, Tuba (up to four of each) Percussion (up to six) • What will I do? o Be a founder member of a vibrant Symphony Orchestra o Learn a variety of music and give a public performance o Work with professional musicians o Make new friends |
• What standard should I be?
Approximately grade 4 or above. In other words you should:
o Have had lessons on your instrument for at least 2 years
o Be able to read music fairly fluently
o Be able to play in around 4-6 different keys (e.g. concert D, G, C, F, Bb)
o Have experience playing in a group/ensemble with other musicians. (If in doubt – ask your teacher)
